Marilyn Farrell

"My friend Marilyn died on Wednesday. She was a warm, wonderful woman who wanted so much to live so that she could continue to give to those around her. I will miss her. Every time I see a crow I will think of her. They were an important part of her spiritual beliefs and will be a permanent link for me to my memories of her. I love you and will miss you my dear friend." I whisper.

Are you listening?

A crow!!! Yes, Marilyn and I the whole way to a pottery show in Halifax were kissing our thumbs to rid the bad luck. I still do.
1 crows sorrow
2 crows joy
3 crows a marriage
4 crows a boy
5 crows silver
6 crows gold
7 crows a secret never to be told.

Hi Alissa
I stayed at Marilyn's and worked in her studio for a bit in the spring of 1998.. with Amanda, actually. I was wondering if you happened to have any more pictures of Marilyn. And also how I can get a hold of Amanada. It was nice to see her post here in Marilyn's memory.:)
All the best.

I wondered what I'd find if I googled Marilyn Farrell and this is the first one that I clicked on.
I am her "friend" Sue. I was with her in Halifax for her stem cell transplant. I think of her often.I was out to lunch yesterday where the hostess pulled one of M's small plates from her cupboard. It had been a gift from me many years ago.
I have one of her early paintings and a couple of rice bowls and a couple of very early vases.

My wife and I bought a stunning iridescent brown and copper pottery bowl at a thrift store this morning and I wondered who was “Farrell Pottery NB Canada 2003”. An internet search led me to this site. Sounds like an interesting lady that did beautiful work. The cuts in the side remind me of crows; how appropriate.
My condolences to you, her friends, and I can assure you that she is in good hands.

Marilyn was my Aunt. So nice to read all of these lovely comments. I can still hear her laugh.
Love and miss her very much!
